In a futuristic Japan where conflicts are settled by the sword, Afro Samurai must avenge his father's murder by challenging a powerful warrior.

Hiroshi Tanaka sports an intense perm which looks like the afro hairstyle favored by some African-Americans back in the 1970's. He doesn't get his hair done at a hair shop, he was actually born with his hair like that. For freedom, Hiroshi moves to Tokyo. He works hard there and, even though he turns 24, he still doesn't have a girlfriend.

After COVID-19, in the autumn, my grandmother returned to her old house, located in a neighborhood that had been awaiting demolition for years—a silent place covered in dust. There, she discovered her child’s diary, in which were recounted the mysteries of a bygone world and distant lands she had never heard of. Today, her child has also grown old, and many mysteries of the past have already been unraveled. Although the world is evolving at great speed, some things seem to remain motionless. Individual life is built through gaps and differences, but often, it lacks the time to be contemplated. A man meets a woman on his hiking trip to Mountain Seorak, but she suffers from incurable diseases. He becomes infatuated with her hair. When he tells her about his feeling she promises him that she would leave her hair after she dies as part his heritage for the man. But when he looks for her later she is already dead, and her hair was already sold to another person. He meets another woman he becomes intimate with, but finds that she is his biological mother.
